The NCH Physician Group Laboratory plays an active and key role in assisting the NCH Physician Group physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants. Diagnostic testing is essential to the basic management of patient care, allowing physicians to detect disease earlier, make diagnoses, prescribe therapies and monitor results. Our goal is to provide high quality medical laboratory services. The satellite laboratories and phlebotomy services located in the NCH Physician Group‘s larger medical buildings supplement the full service laboratory menu available to the Group.

In most cases, the laboratory results are available within twenty-four (24) hours. When necessary, laboratory staff facilitate add on testing for previously drawn samples and STAT testing. Results with critical or special importance are communicated directory to the physicians.

How the Laboratory Works:

More than a million tests are performed each year and the results are available to physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants to review in the electronic medical record via an online laboratory information system. The online high tech computer system provides the clinician with immediate access to laboratory test results.

For your convenience, the NCH Physician Group has draw sites where specimens are collected. Specimens are also collected in several of our Physician offices. Couriers transport these samples to NCH, Lab Corp or Quest Laboratories for analysis. We place the needs of each individual patient first, with an emphasis on courtesy, compassion and professional expertise. The Physician Group laboratory staff promotes responsiveness to our patients’ needs and facilitate prompt service.
