TIPS FOR IMPROVING HEALTH & FITNESS

•Start a program by first setting your goals. What would you like to achieve?

•Speak with a certified professional in the Health/Fitness field. They can give you a plan of action to achieve those goals.

•Know your limits. Understand that an improvement in fitness takes time (usually 6-12 weeks) to notice a change.

•Eat a healthy diet rich with vegetables, fruits,lean meats, and plenty of water.

•Get plenty of rest. Your body needs time to rebuild itself after exercise.

•If you have a medical condition, speak to your physician first.

Quick Guide to Fitness

•Warm up 5-10 minutes by walking, biking, or gentle stretching.

•The Surgeon General recommends 30 minutes of physical activity most, if not all, days of the week. The goal is to raise your heart rate for thirty continuous minutes.

•Cool down 5-10 minutes by walking or stretching.

•Drink water before, during, & after exercise.
