Saving Our Tiniest TreasuresThe NCH Healthcare System 54th annual Hospital Ball 2012 took place on Saturday, October 27th at the Ritz Carlton Beach Resort, Naples. The Ball, themed “Saving Our Tiniest Treasures,” benefited the NCH Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).

Just like the little miracles who thrive there, the NCH NICU is growing by leaps and bounds and must undergo a major expansion to care for our youngest patients, our tiniest treasures. With an average daily census of 12, the NICU has outgrown its current 9-bed unit and must expand to provide for the community’s critically ill or premature babies, most of whom require immediate, life-saving care.

The expansion is important because when there are no available NICU beds to care for a sick or premature baby, NCH has to send those children to other healthcare facilities. Often these facilities are far from home, making it difficult for parents and other family members to be close to those who need them most, the newborns.

We were honored to have Mrs. Lavern Norris Gaynor serve as Honorary Chair this year.  Stacey Herring of Fifth Third Bank will served as Ball Chair, Ray Dweck of Northern Trust will took on the role of Auction Chair, and Stefan Contorno of Merrill Lynch will served as Sponsorship Chair.

The NCH Hospital Ball is the longest running annual gala in the history of Naples. For the past 54 years, friends of the hospital gather on one special evening to raise funds and awareness for critical hospital programs and services. The event sells out quickly, so please save the date and stay tuned for your opportunity to purchase tickets. Tickets will be available online soon! Thank you for your support!
