Our therapists focus on restoring your functional goals through the following therapy programs. We communicate with you, your healthcare providers, and family members to provide excellent care and education.
Therapy for Lymphedema
Our therapists can treat Lymphedema following breast cancer treatment, trauma to an extremity, infection, radiation, or when lymphatic vessels are injured.
- Geraldine Manning, PTA, certified in the Vodder Technique , Manual Lymphatic Drainage, (MLD), and Complete Decongestive Therapy, (CDT)
- Sandy Hutchinson, OTR/L, certified in the Vodder Technique , Manual Lymphatic Drainage, (MLD), and Complete Decongestive Therapy, (CDT)
Speech Therapy for Oral, Head, and Neck Cancer Patients
Radiation and chemotherapy for oral, head, and neck cancer patients may cause the following symptoms:
- Dry mouth
- Jaw Pain (Trismus)
- Pain or difficulty with swallowing, (Dysphagia)
Speech Language Pathologist, Karen Moss, MA, CCC-SLP:
Karen specializes in treating oral, head, and neck cancer patients. She has taken advanced coursework for dysphagia and voice, including VitalStim®, myofascial release, FEES, and videostroboscopy. Karen also leads a support group for oral, head, and neck cancer survivors and their caregivers the first Wednesday of the month at 3:00pm at the Briggs Health Pavilion conference room. Physical Therapy for Cancer Patients:
We provide physical therapy for general debility, balance problems, malaise & fatigue associated with cancer treatment. Physical therapy can help build endurance, loss of function and flexibility associated with cancer treatment.
