Carlos Qunitero, MD is Board Certified in Internal Medicine by the American Board of Medicine and has been affiliated with NCH for 9 years. He received his medical degree from Ponce School of Medicine in Puerto Rico and conducted his residency in Internal Medicine at the Ochsner Clinic in New Orleans, Louisiana where he also served as Chief medical resident.
Dr. Quintero is a member of the American College of Physicians and a member of the Society of Hospital Medicine. He began to practice in Naples immediately after completion of his residency training and is currently serving as the Chair of the Department of Medicine, Chair of the Physician Excellence Committee (PEC), Medical Director of the NCH Physician Group Hospitalists, and the Physician Champion for the system-wide prevention of Cauti (catheter associated urinary tract infections). He is currently a member of the Professional Capabilities/Joint Conference Committee as well as the Physician Advisory Committee. Dr. Quintero is a member of the NCH Physician Group Physician Council. He is a member of the Board Quality Committee. He recently received the Carl Liebert award in 2015 for fostering peer review activities and quality of care initiatives.
