Douglas W. Harrington, DO FCCP

Dr. Douglas W. Harrington is a board certified in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine by the ABIM. Dr. Harrington graduated first in his class from Des Moines University in Iowa. He completed a rotating internship at DOH in Detroit, Michigan followed by an Internal Medicine residency at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. He served as Chief Medical Resident, followed by a Pulmonary Critical Care fellowship. Dr. Harrington served as lead investigator of a large genetic study of sarcoidosis while at Henry Ford Hospital. He joined a pulmonary critical care practice in the Detroit, Michigan region, practicing at Mt Clemens General Hospital. He also served as Chairman of the Critical Care Division. He received the Educator of the Year Award at MCGH for 9 consecutive years.

In 2003 Dr. Harrington relocated to Naples, Florida and is practicing at NCH Healthcare System. He has served as Chairman of the Critical Care Division, 2010; and the Carl Liebert Award in 2012.


Dr. Harrington is married to Dianna Harrington. They have two children, son Spencer and daughter Sydney. He enjoys kayaking and paddle boarding in the waterways of southwest Florida as well as yard work and gardening.
