James L. Bernene, MD MACP Former Professor and Chairman of the Department of Medicine at the Hospital of Central Connecticut; and the Associate Chairman of Medicine and Associate Dean for Medical Education at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine.
Dr. Bernene is an endocrinologist and has helped educate countless numbers of medical students, residents and fellows. He has served as the Program Director for three internal medicine residency programs both at academic community hospitals and university programs.
He has been designated a master by the American College of Physicians. The masters comprise of a small group of highly distinguished physicians who have achieved recognition in medicine by exhibiting preeminence in practice or medical research, holding positions of high honor or making contributions to medical science or the art of medicine.
