Class Registration

** Monday, September 18 Infant CPR Classes have been RESCHEDULED to Saturday, September 23.
The 4:00 class is reschedule to 9:00 a.m.; the 6:00 class is rescheduled to 11:00 a.m.**

Note that all dates and times shown are subject to change. Our prenatal class size is limited in order to provide optimum instructor/student ratios.

All classes are free of charge.

Registration for classes is suggested as early as possible. All classes are scheduled on a first come/first served basis.

You may reserve a place in any class by calling 239-624-6224 or submitting the form below. You will be officially registered for class when you receive a confirmation email, which may take up to three (3) business days to receive.

Due to the limited class size and instructors required, please notify us by phone at least 24 hours in advance if you are unable to attend. Please call 239-624-6224 to cancel.

Available Prenatal Classes

Understanding Infant and Child Safety

This class covers a variety of topics including car seat safety, water safety, childproofing your home, and safe baby care. We will also cover some basic choking rescue skills and an introduction to CPR.

*This class does not replace a hands on training course in CPR. 

Understanding Birth

90-minute class

You will learn about the basics of pregnancy, physical changes, stages of labor and coping techniques for both medicated and un-medicated labors including breathing and relaxation techniques. You will also learn about the benefits and risks of medical interventions including epidural anesthesia, reasons for unplanned cesarean deliveries and more.

We hope to ease your anxiety and provide you with all of the information you will need for a wonderful birthing experience.

Breastfeeding Classes

90 minute class

This class addresses the many benefits of breastfeeding. 

Topics include: proper latch and positioning, establishment of your milk supply, and common questions and concerns.  All of the information you need to help you and your baby as you begin your journey to breastfeeding success. 

Grandparent's Class

90-minute class

This class helps new and repeat grandparents learn about what has changed in infant and child care and why. 

Get up-to date information and care tips so that you can relax and enjoy your new role! 

Understanding Your Newborn

90-minute class 

This class helps parents become more at ease in their new role.  Parents will learn how to provide care for their new baby including bathing, diapering, safe sleep and comforting.

For Dad’s Only

This class offers useful advice and practical solutions to common challenges that include preparing for the future, survival strategies, supporting mom, baby-proofing basics and bonding with your baby. 

This is a great opportunity to talk with other dads and learn about the importance of your role in your baby’s life. 

Safe Sitter Class

Cost: $50/child

Safe Sitter® was created by a pediatrician, Dr. Patricia A. Keener.

The course trains young adolescents to provide safe, nurturing care for children and to respond appropriately to medical emergencies.  It also teaches introductory employment skills and important life skills.

The long-term goal is to prepare young people for future responsibilities as parents. The course content and teaching techniques are designed for middle school learners.

Safe Sitter® is a highly interactive curriculum and is continually updated. Responsibilities and ethics of safe sitting, age appropriate entertainment, Safe Sitter safety tips (keeping yourself safe), infant/child CPR, infant/child obstructed airway rescue, infant/child rescue breathing and basic first aid information (what to handle, when to call) will be covered.

Infant CPR

In-person

American Heart Association’s Friends and Family Infant CPR and Choking rescue course.

This course does not offer a formal certification for a job requirement. Lifesaving, proven techniques for choking rescue and CPR are taught to parents, friends and family members that are going to be providing care to an infant.

Skills are taught in a group environment using AHA’s practice-while-watching technique using infant mannequins.
