COVID-19 Response and Preparedness Fund – Gifts of any amount are welcome. Throughout the pandemic, NCH has incurred significant costs repsonding to COVID-19, including PPE, testing and treatment supplies, equipment, facility upgrades, clinical staffing and needs related to the well-being of our frontline healthcare workers. Our latest investment has been in special freezers that are required to store COVID-19 vaccines when they become available. Many of these investments are not only assisting with the current pandemic, but improving our readiness for future public health crises.
Spiritual Care Chaplains - $3,750, $11,250, $22,500 or $45,000. (Funds a Chaplain Resident for one, three, six or 12 months). NCH chaplains provide spiritual support of our patients, families and staff, helping people draw on their spiritual resources to cope with what is going on. The Spiritual Care department also manages a chaplaincy training program called Clinical Pastoral Education, which is accredited by the US Department of Education through the Association for Clinical Pastoral Education. A chaplain or chaplain intern is assigned to every nursing unit for routine visit to offer spiritual support at NCH Baker Hospital Downtown and NCH North Naples Hospital.
Artwork for NNH Patient Rooms - $7,500, $7,500. ($7,500 funds 32 framed prints for all patient rooms on floors at either 5-North or 6-North of the North Naples Hospital). Recently, mounted televisions were removed from the walls on these floors, leaving behind tattered wood panels that cannot be repaired in a way that is aesthetically pleasing. Nurse leaders seek to acquire artwork with a beach theme, creating an attractive, relaxing environment for patients and visitors. The two donors will be recognized in the main nurse station area with a special plaque, accompanying an original painting donated by fine artist Regis W. Bobitski, a prominent master of mixed media painting with works on display in private collections around the world.
