The NCH Healthcare System, providing quality medical services to the residents and visitors of southwest Florida from Estero to Marco Island for more than 60 years, is pleased to share that construction is on schedule for the December 2018 opening of NCH Healthcare Bonita, at U.S. 41 and Walden Center Drive (west of U.S. 41 & south of Coconut Rd.).
This comprehensive outpatient medical center is located on 4.1 acres and will include a free-standing, full service 24/7 Emergency Department, and a full service Outpatient Imaging Center (both opening December 2018) as well as Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy services, and NCH Physician Group Primary Care and Specialty Care physician offices (opening in early 2019).
The Emergency Department and Outpatient Imaging Center will be located on the first floor of this 41,000 square foot two-story facility and NCH Physician Group offices and a separate Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center will be on the second floor. The Outpatient Imaging Center will provide Ultrasound, Digital X-Ray, CT, MRI, and Mammography services. The Outpatient Surgery and Endoscopy Center will have two technologically advanced surgical suites that can be utilized as either outpatient surgery suites or endoscopy suites. The NCH Healthcare Bonita campus project will cost approximately $34M and will bring 80 new jobs to the community. All of the funding for this new facility will come from NCH.
Every day the majority of the residents and visitors from the Bonita/Estero community in need of medical services travel to an NCH facility to receive care. The new NCH Healthcare Bonita campus, together with the existing NCH Healthcare facility which opened in November of 2015 at the corner of Bonita Beach Road and U.S. 41, will provide individuals in these communities with the high quality and high value care they have come to expect from NCH, now even closer to home.
In its ongoing effort to meet the growing healthcare needs of southwest Florida, NCH opened one of the first free-standing emergency departments in southwest Florida in November 2015. The Free Standing Emergency Department at NCH Healthcare Northeast, located at the intersection of S.R. 951 and Immokalee Road, sees approximately 22,000 patients per year, is one of the nation’s leaders in patient satisfaction (95th % tile), and has among the best door-to-doctor times in the industry. The best practices used to create the efficient, innovative and successful model of emergency care at NCH Healthcare Northeast will be duplicated at NCH Healthcare Bonita.
NCH wants to help everyone live longer, happier, healthier lives without having to go to the hospital. NCH demonstrates its commitment to this mission through sponsorship of the Blue Zones Project for southwest Florida. The Blue Zones Project is based on the five regions of the world where more people live to 100 or beyond and focuses on helping create communities where the healthy choice is the easy choice. However, in the inevitable situations when individuals do need health care services, and in keeping with the Blue Zones guiding principle, NCH is working to ensure that the option for the high quality, high value health care provider is the easy choice.
