Orthopedics Pre-Op Class

**Our preoperative joint replacement classes are currently on hold**

We are committed to ensuring you have the information you need for a successful joint replacement.

Please contact the total joint replacement manager, Donna Fogelson at 239-624-3998 or email as soon as your surgery is scheduled.

All patients scheduled for hip or knee replacement are expected to attend our two hour pre-operative class. This class is an opportunity to discuss topics related to preparing for surgery, your hospital stay, discharge planning and physical therapy progression. You will leave with your questions answered and less anxiety about the process.

You should register for this class as soon as your surgery date is confirmed.

 Registration is required as space is limited. Class may be cancelled for low enrollment.

Preoperative Patient Education Program for Total Joint Replacements

Wednesday: 9 a.m. – 11 a.m.

Our Preoperative Patient Education Seminar for Total Joint Replacement Surgery is designed to prepare you and your family for surgery, recovery and rehabilitation and to initiate comprehensive discharge planning. You will have the opportunity to learn from and interact with a variety of skilled, enthusiastic healthcare professionals who are committed to supporting surgical excellence at NCH.

As soon as your surgery date is scheduled, please register by phone 239-624-3965 or by email. Please include:

  • Patient name
  • Phone number
  • Date of surgery
  • Name of surgeon
  • Type of surgery (hip or knee)
  • Number of people attending class
  • Date and time of the class you would like to attend

Please note that our pre-operative joint replacement classes are held on the second floor of the Telford Building at the Downtown Baker Campus of NCH. The Telford Building sits to the right as you face the main lobby entrance. Ample parking is available near the building. Take the elevator to the second floor and follow the hall to classroom #2.
